The Cardinal Creek Community Association and CIBC are proud to announce the “CIBC Cardinal Creek Park Grand Opening and BBQ”

The Cardinal Creek Community Association and CIBC are proud to announce the “CIBC Cardinal Creek Park Grand Opening and BBQ” to mark the official opening of Ottawa’s newest city park.

Orléans, Ontario – Cardinal Creek Community Association (CCCA) President Martin d’Anjou along with CIBC District Manager, Derek Mainville and Dianna Muir, CIBC Manager Trim-Innes, today announced the “CIBC Cardinal Creek Park Grand Opening and BBQ” to take place on September 13, 2014.

They were joined by the Honorable Royal Galipeau, MP Orléans, Grant Crack, MPP Glengarry-Prescott-Russell (GPR), Marie-France Lalonde, MPP Ottawa-Orléans, in announcing this event.

The park is located at 2130 Bergamot St, east of Trim Road between Springridge Drive and Valin Street in Orléans. The park is approximately 10 acres in size, making it the largest community park in Cardinal Creek. Facilities include: a splash pad, basketball and volleyball courts, a miniature soccer field, a full-size lit outdoor hockey rink, kids play structures, a natural walking path and shade structures.

“Thanks to the efforts and persistence of the CCCA, residents are able to enjoy today, and for many years to come, everything this new community park has to offer. I am very happy to be a part of this launch,” said Royal Galipeau, MP Orléans.

Grant Crack, MPP GPR noted “I’d like to congratulate the CCCA for working in concert with local businesses, builders, City staff and politicians in order to deliver for GPR residents on what promises to be a focal point for neighborhood gatherings and community events like the “CIBC Cardinal Creek Park Grand Opening and BBQ”. I am pleased to lend my support to this community event.”

Newly elected MPP Marie-France Lalonde also added “I am pleased to support the CCCA-CIBC partnership and to promote this major community event. This launch shows how working together we can obtain great results for Orléans.”

The “CIBC Cardinal Creek Park Grand Opening and BBQ” features a host of activities such as a magic show, inflatable slides, the Ottawa Fire Services demonstration, Tim Horton’s Rogers TV Community Cruiser as well as live entertainment by local recording artist Brant Pethick and Opus Academy.
