On Saturday October 26, 2026, the CCCA represented by Andre Hamel, Director of Environment, Ron Camacho, Vice-President and Sean Crossan, President and Carleton University’s School of Geology represented by Conrad Wilson, Phd Student and Bridget (MA student) spent the afternoon educating interested participants about the Cardinal Creek Karst feature and its geology. This was the only GeoHeritage site this year as provincial funding cuts have eliminated Carleton University’s Geology Outreach program – previously there were 7 sites throughout the National Capital Region. The weather was fantastic and participants seemed to enjoy the tour of the karst, its sink holes and geological features.
