Dear Residents,

The CCCA is pleased to showcase the site plan for the Cardinal Creek Children’s Community Garden that will be located at 1825 Trim Road in the Cardinal Creek Community Park. This is Orleans first children’s garden.

The garden was designed by local resident, Laura Dill, owner of Blossom Design and Landscaping and
former Head Gardener for the U.S. Ambassador, with the assistance of Jean and Estelle Laporte from
Laporte’s Flowers and Nursery; Gina Lapointe, Horticulturalist from the Orleans Community Garden;
and other local residents.
The garden will have raised garden beds and an accessible pathway so that disabled children can
also have access to it. It has features such as a butterfly garden, strawberry patch, touch and smell
area and a meeting place to encourage education and story-telling.

Construction of the garden will start on Saturday, June 6. We are looking for volunteers so please email president@cardinalcreek.org. If you can volunteer for the morning or the afternoon.
An official Garden Soil Turning Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 10 at 5:00 p.m. with
Mayor Jim Watson, Deputy Mayor, Bob Monette, MPPs Grant Crack and Marie-France Lalonde and
MP Royal Galipeau. Children and parents from Cardinal Creek are encouraged to join us with your
shovels and hats for this photo opportunity. The picture will take place at 1825 Trim Road in the

Cardinal Creek Community Park.

Please RVSP Sandra Stefanik at vicepresident@cardinalcreek.org by June 1.
