Greetings/Salut,
On behalf of the Cardinal Creek Community Association, I would like to thank all of you who participated in the Challenge Cup yesterday. We played and celebrated the great Canadian game of hockey and the continuation of the City of Ottawa Outdoor Rink Program. On behalf of the CCCA, I would like to thank the Chapel Hill South Community Association for hosting a great event. Helmets off to you and your board members!
Although the CCCA was not victorious in this outing, we demonstrated true team spirit and our young goalie Quinn demonstrated exceptional abilities as he kept the kids game to a 2-2 tie. Our other (more mature) goalie, Charles also played an outstanding game in net for Chapel Hill and only allowed 1 goal despite over 50 shots. I truly enjoyed the afternoon and the opportunity to celebrate this great day with you all. I hope that you did as well.
I would like to thank Councillors Monette and Bloess for doing the official puck drop. Councillor Bloess’ riveting play by play commentating will be remembered for years to come. My ears are still ringing! MPP Phil McNeely, Orleans and MP Royal Galipeau, Orleans for cheering us on and supporting both teams. Your continued support is much appreciated.
I would like to extend a special thank you to MPP Grant Crack, GPR who played a good game of hockey with the other members of the Cardinal Creek Community Association. How many cross bars did you hit?? Grant, I hope you are able to catch your breathe after such an exhilarating game of hockey and that you join us again next year.
Next year we will have a rematch on our turf and we will celebrate once again the great Canadian game of hockey. Please mark your calendars as Saturday, February 9, 2013 is hockey day in Canada.
Yours truly,
Sean Crossan
