Firefighters and Emergency Protective Services Day: July 13
Firefighters, police officers and paramedics risk their lives every day for the safety of others. On Saturday, July 13, come celebrate their work at Cumberland Heritage Village Museum, during the annual Firefighters and Emergency Protective Services Day. The fun kicks off at 9 a.m. with a "Parade of Heroes" through the Village of Cumberland, from the old fire hall to the museum. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., explore antique and modern emergency vehicles, play firefighting games and visit with Sparky the Firedog. Firefighters will demonstrate the "jaws of life" on a crumpled car, and rescue a maiden from a roof! Explore the museum's fire hall and fire station, and enjoy the ongoing barbeque.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, or $15 for a family.

Cumberland Heritage Village Museum is located at 2940 Old Montreal Rd, Cumberland. For more information call 613-833-3059 or visit ottawa.ca/museums.
